How to degass a varilift camloc gas spring
.In relation to the de-gassing of our vari-lift gas springs it is not an exact science.
As a rule you adjust say a quarter turn at a time on each spring as in release and then tighten back up. This exercise is completed until you are getting the controlled motion that you require. One thing that we also recommend is that an additional weight is put on the application when de-gassing the springs so if too much gas is released you have a safety element involved to fall back on.
Other manufacturers do not offer a variable force spring and I am not sure why this is but we feel it gives us an advantage as a bespoke manufacturer so a customer can adjust parts to their exact requirements and then in turn send these back to us for P1 force testing so a fixed force production part can then be recommended. This is also useful for smaller volumes where you can then purchase a part which is dimensionally correct but where you are not 100% sure of exactly what the required force is.
